Google will release 3rd Android 11 developer preview in May 2020

Google will release 3rd Android 11 developer preview in May 2020. According to Google , the first beta version of Android 11 is due to be released in May 2020, and platform stability should be achieved in June. Google has released a new developer preview of Android 11. The third pre-release now brings some new features that could make it easier for programmers. The Exit Reasons API, for example, can be used to get details after an app suddenly quits. In the third preview version, Google updated the API based on user suggestions. The new ADB incremental mode should speed up the transfer of files via ADB (Android Debug Bridge). The installation of very large APK files via ADB can sometimes take a long time and thus reduce productivity.  Thanks to ADB Incremental, the transfer of files with more than 2 GB should be up to ten times faster. LG Velvet Smartphone will be presented on May 7, 2020

LG announced the launch of its new smartphone Velvet on May 7, 2020 in a video on Youtube . The device will be shown as part of an online presentation, as no major events are currently taking place due to the corona crisis.

LG had already shown its new smartphone in a previous video without going too deeply into the technical details. However, the name and design of the Velvet is a fresh start for the South Korean manufacturer, which has lost more and more importance in the Android smartphone market in recent years.

The cameras on the back are arranged in a drop shape, for example. Only the main camera protrudes a little from the housing, the other lenses are installed flat - a difference to most current top smartphones, whose camera modules sometimes protrude 2 mm from the housing.

Eye-catching metal edges and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765 with 5G

Also striking are the metal edges, which extend over the glass front and back and represent an interesting design element. The display accordingly has a different corner radius than the housing, which no other manufacturer currently does in this striking form.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765 will be used in the Velvet, i.e. a top-class SoC with an integrated 5G modem. No information is currently available on the remaining technical equipment.

The price of the LG Velvet is also still unknown. Since the manufacturer does not use Qualcomm's expensive Snapdragon 865, the device could be cheaper than the current top smartphones from the competition - LG will say more on May 7.
